1920 Happy Bedtime Mr. Punch Mascot/Hood Ornament M-157

A 1920’s Happy Bedtime Mr. Punch Mascot/Hood Ornament. This piece is known as a bedtime figure and depicts Mr. Punch smoking a cigar while holding a quill. Tobacconists mounted these figures on their counters and attached them to the gas supply so that clients could light their cigars immediately after purchase. The flame emitting from the tip of the brass cigar functioned as a perpetual lighter. It has a hole in the cigar, and one in the base. It is made of bronze and measures approximately 7 ½ inches high.  It is a reproduction. This is an individual piece there may be small differences between the pictures and the physical piece.  This adds to the exclusivity of this ornament.
